Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Manjo, the recipe app and related services ("Manjo", "the service") operated by Code & Canvas, registered in the Netherlands (KvK 99849526). Contact: info@getmanjo.app. By creating an account or using Manjo you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use Manjo

You must be at least 13 years old to use Manjo. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, you may only use Manjo with permission from a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You can delete your account at any time from within the app; deletion removes your personal data as described in the privacy policy.

3. Your content

Recipes, photos, notes and other content you add remain yours. You grant Code & Canvas the licence needed to store, process and display that content to you and to the people you share it with (for example, members of a shared cookbook). If you make content public, you grant other users the right to view it within the service.

Only add content you have the right to use. Recipes as such (ingredient lists and basic instructions) are generally not protected by copyright, but copied creative text and photos can be. We respond to substantiated takedown requests sent to info@getmanjo.app.

4. Subscriptions and payment

• Free includes the core cooking loop with usage caps: 3 cookbooks, 15 AI captures and 3 video imports per month.
• Pro costs €4.99/month or €44.99/year, billed through your Apple account. Prices include VAT where applicable.
• Founder price-lock: the first 150 Pro subscribers pay €2.99/month or €29.99/year for as long as their subscription remains active without interruption. If a founder subscription lapses, the founder price is not restored.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms.

5. Fair use — what "unlimited" means

"Unlimited" features in Pro are unlimited for human cooking, not for automation. To protect the service for everyone, Pro is capped at 1,000 AI captures and 100 video imports per calendar month. No cook reaches these numbers in normal use; scripts and scrapers do. We may throttle or suspend accounts that exceed them or that access the service by automated means.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others;
• attempt to breach, probe or overload the service or its infrastructure;
• use the service to send spam or to harvest data about other users;
• resell or commercially exploit the service without our written agreement.

7. AI features

Manjo uses AI to extract, transform and generate recipe content. AI output can be inaccurate — always use your own judgement, especially with allergies, dietary restrictions and food safety. AI-generated content in Manjo is labelled; see the AI transparency page for details.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Manjo available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features; if we materially reduce what a paid tier includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Code & Canvas is liable only for direct damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the courts of your country of residence. EU consumers can also use the European ODR platform.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Manjo after that means you accept the new terms.
